Experience the Aberdare National Park where you will search for the big herds of Elephants, buffaloes, and Leopards in the forest. Get a combined stay in Aberdares Country Club with its own conservancy plus the famous Ark Lodge. Indulge in the many exciting activities like horseback riding in search of the game or just relax at the viewing deck at The Ark and wait for the animals to come to the watering hole. The Aberdare National Park is a protected area in the Aberdare Mountain Range in central Kenya located east of the East African Rift Valley. It covers the higher areas and the Aberdare Salient to the east.

The Aberdares are the third highest range of mountains in Kenya, reaching a summit of just over 4000m. This massive range is well known for its thick salient forests, and their prolific game. These high altitude forests are broken by moorlands and plains, and through the abundant tree cover there are sensational views of the Rift Valley and the peak of Mt Kenya.

The forest is a hidden world of wildlife. The thick vegetation provides perfect cover for countless species.

Aberdare National Park: This morning after breakfast your guide will pick you up and you drive to Aberdare National Park. On arrival check in at your tree house. Spend the afternoon at leisure. Evening head out for a game viewing drive at the park

Day 2ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK

Game viewing at Aberdare

Aberdare National Park: Enjoy a morning and evening game viewing drive and excursions in the forest. Animals to be seen include the Lion, Leopard, African elephant, African Hunting Dog, Giant Forest Hog, Bushbuck, Mountain Reedbuck, Waterbuck, Cape Buffalo, Suni, Side-Striped Jackal, Eland, Duikers Olive Baboon, Black and White Colobus Monkey, and Sykes Monkey. Rare sightings include those of the Golden Cat and the Bongo – an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest. Enjoys a sundowner after the game drive and later dinner and overnight at your lodge.
