Frances works in Mixed Media, Watercolour and Acrylics from her studio in Naivasha, Kenya. A Kenyan born Artist, Frances has had many solo shows in Nairobi and the UK and her paintings are in many private collections worldwide. She uses natural material such as sand, charcoal, dust, elephant dung and earth colours of Africa with the bright oranges, reds and magentas of tribal fabrics in her paintings on canvas and paper. Painting on location in the Kenyan bush, and inspiring other artists to use the natural earth materials and colours in their real life experiences on Safari are her passion: “through sketching and painting and quiet observation you see the wild animals of Africa more clearly and enter into their magical world, and this process is life-changing.” Keeping sketchbooks to distil memories of African journeys are a speciality of Frances’s work, and she has had many happy experiences holding Workshops to encourage many students to do the same, at any level of artistic experience.
You will fly by private air charter to Borana Conservancy and be met by your guide and enjoy a game drive back to the lodge. You will enjoy a delicious lunch by the pool and settle into your surroundings. Take an evening game drive out onto the plains with Frances who will point out various details to look for – training your eye to capture the moment!
